General Information

Whilst you are very welcome to have up to three ‘taster’ walks with us before you join, please then join if you wish to continue walking with us; it is not only very reasonable at just £5 per calendar year but you will enjoy a range of member benefits as outlined below.
The joining fee is simply the payment of the £5 subscription for the current calendar year and if you join in November or December your £5 covers your subscription for the following calendar year as well!
Once you are a member you will receive regular Club emails which provide a range of valuable information and benefits including:- last minute changes to Forthcoming Walks (eg cancellations or alterations due to inclement weather), details and invitations to special social events and outings, regular Club newsletters, a longer range Programme of Forthcoming walks, invitation to the AGM, subscription reminders etc etc
Before attending any walks with the Club, we recommend you look at the Walking Guidelines to understand the various categories of walks on offer and to understand key information such as:- recommended attire/equipment, whether to bring lunch/coffee with you etc. Furthermore please look at the detail of the particular walk you have in mind on Forthcoming Walks which will detail the length of the walk and may provide other detail such as particularly steep hills to climb and suchlike. If you are new to walking we would recommend you commence with a shorter walk and perhaps then progress onto longer walks – you will soon get a ‘feel’ for the which walk category suits you best!

2) Pay Your Subscription
• Please pay your £5 subscription by BACS transfer as follows:-

Other Membership Information
• Once you have completed 1) and 2) above, you should receive an email confirmation of your membership within two weeks. If you haven’t heard anything, please contact the Membership Secretary (see below)
• The information you provide to us per 1) above is available to officers of the Club for administrative purposes only and will not be passed on to anyone else without your consent, unless required by law. Please see our GDPR statement – in applying for membership you are consenting to the provisions of this statement.
• If any prospective member has any difficulty with the joining process (ie either with ‘Providing Your Details’ or ‘Paying Your Subscription’ by the methods described above), please do not hesitate to contact the Membership Secretary (see below) as we don’t wish to exclude anyone and we are confident an alternative method can be agreed!
